Mavericks Playing With Special Purpose on Cancer Night

The Martin County West volleyball team is playing for a purpose with a local rival in town on Thursday.

The Mavericks welcome Fairmont to Trimont on Cancer Night.

The 13-1 Mavericks have only lost three sets this season and have the 13th-best vote total in the latest Class A poll from the Minnesota Volleyball Coaches Association.

The 6-10 Cardinals have lost seven of their last eight matches after a 5-3 start to the season.

There will be a silent auction and bake sale along with the traditional Survivor Walk. All proceeds from Cancer Night go to MCW Ribbons to support those fighting cancer in the MCW community.

Full varsity coverage begins at around 7:00 p.m. with the first varsity serve expected at 7:15 p.m. on Xtreme Country 105.7 and Explore Live Video.
