Knox Larson missed the State Boys Golf Tournament by one stroke on Monday.
Larson posted a score of 81 featuring a birdie and eight pars on 18 holes at North Links Golf Course in North Mankato. That put him in a three-way tie for seventh place with a total score of 165 on 36 holes in two days of play. He lost the sudden death shootout by one stroke.
Larson was the only Mavericks player to qualify for Day 2 of the Section 2A Boys Golf Tournament and the sophomore will look for a return to State again next year.
