The top-ranked Jackson County Central football team slid right past Sibley East on a wet night in Arlington on Friday.
JCC built a 53-0 lead and routed the Wolverines 53-12 for the 53rd Huskies win in the past four years.
Gage Johnson started the scoring with a one-yard rushing touchdown and Haiden Warmka punched in the two-point conversion to make it 8-0 JCC.
Johnson added his second rushing TD from 37 yards out on the next Huskies drive to make it 14-0 JCC.
Holden Stumpf recovered a fumble on the ensuing kickoff to set up a 33-yard touchdown pass from Jacob Kruger to Brody Anderson and it was 20-0 JCC after the first quarter.
Johnson scored his third rushing touchdown from two yards away and Kruger found Blaise Rowe for the two-point conversion to make it 28-0 JCC.
Carson Doescher scrambled in for a popular 13-yard rushing touchdown on the next drive and it was 34-0 JCC.
Johnson’s final carry of the night was his fourth rushing touchdown from 48 yards away and that made it 40-0 Huskies.
Braxsten Hall hauled in the interception that ended the next Wolverines drive. Ashton Singvongsa had a scoop-and-score touchdown for the Huskies defense in the final moments of the first half. Jazhyel Munoz added the extra point for the 47-0 JCC halftime lead.
Carter Steenstra cashed in the opening drive of the second half to complete the 53-0 Huskies lead. Sibley East scored two touchdowns but failed both conversions during the second half.
Huskies head coach Tom Schuller says they accomplished the mission of getting a good look at much of the roster.
JCC extended active winning streaks to 29 games overall and 36 consecutive regular-season games.
The 3-0 Huskies welcome Pipestone Area to Swearingen Field on Friday night of homecoming week.
