The eighth-ranked Jackson County Central volleyball team outlasted Worthington in five sets at home on Thursday night.
The Huskies took the first set 25-18. The Trojans grabbed the next two sets 25-22 and 25-18 to take a 2-1 match lead. JCC took the fourth set 25-15 and captured the fifth set 15-11 to finish off the comeback victory.
Paylin Sether led JCC with 16 kills while adding 16 digs and 1 block. She went 18-of-19 serving with a pair of aces. Brielle Tufvesson led the team with 18 digs and went 11-of-11 serving. She also had 12 kills, three set assists, and a pair of blocks. Kinley VanDeVere had a team-high 25 set assists and added six digs and a pair of aces on 16-of-18 serving. Mady Wachal led the team with five blocks and added eight kills, four digs, and went 8-of-11 serving.
Zoey Hall filled the sheet with 21 set assists, 11 digs, six kills, four blocks, and a three ace serves on 15-of-16 from the line. Braelyn Boogerd collected 23 digs, seven set assists, and her own trio of aces on 19-of-21 serving. Lincoln Gorden had 10 kills, four digs, a pair of blocks, and one set assists. She also went 5-of-7 serving with one ace. Paige Benda had seven kills and two blocks.
The 3-1 Huskies host St. James Area on Tuesday.
