Jackson County Central qualified 18 individuals and relay teams with a trio of event wins plus a new school record at the Section 2A South Sub-Section Meet in St. James on Thursday.
Natalia-Botello-Romos posted a pair of personal records while winning the girls 100 and 200 meter races.
Botello-Ramos, Stevie Untiedt, Allison Luebben, and Zoey Hall set a new school record in the 4×200 Relay. Luebben took second place in the 100 meters and sixth place in the Long Jump. Untiedt posted a PR for second place in the 400 meters. Naiya Ayers had a PR in the 3200 meters for the runner-up finish. Kendalyn Doescher joined Luebben, Hall, and Untiedt for second place in the 4×400 Relay. Renae Vancura took seventh place in the discus throw.
David Botello-Ramos won the boys 3200 meters with a personal best of his own.
James Atura finished runner-up with a season best in the 110-meter hurdles. Kristoph Olsem finished fourth in the 400 meters, sixth in the High Jump, and sixth in the Long Jump. Grant Ambrose posted a PR for sixth place in the Pole Vault. David Botello-Ramos joined Kaydent Mitchell, Nolan Brinks, and Gavin Tusa for a season best and second place in the 4×800 Relay. Atura and Olsem joined Isaac Hesebeck and Ever Munoz a season best to finish third place in the 4×200 Relay.
Both of the JCC teams finished fifth place.
The Martin County West/Butterfield-Odin qualified eight athletes for the section meet.
Evelynn Christenson posted a personal record for fifth place in the 3200 meters. Mylee Larson took fifth place in the discus throw. Jaylee Hanson was fifth in the high jump and sixth in the shot put. Hannah Cole earned seventh in the long jump.
The MCW/BO girls collected 11th place in the team scores.
Hank Olson posted a personal record for fifth place in the shot put. Hayden O’Connor finished eighth place in the triple jump. Lixon Forsberg took eighth in the long jump.
The MCW/BO boys took 12th in the team scores.
