Bulls drop key home clash with Martins

Jackson lost a thriller at home against Fairmont on Wednesday in the First Nite League of the Minnesota Baseball Association.
The Martins rallied past the Bulls 4-3 for a key win at Wacker Field.
Easton Bahr led off with a hit, stole second, and scored on a double by Tyler Netsch to make it 1-0 Bulls after the first inning.
A two-run home run in the top of the fourth made it 2-1 Martins, a solo homer in the fifth made it 3-1 Martins, and one more run in the sixth made it 4-1 Martins.
The Bulls seventh-inning comeback attempt came up just short after RBIs by Netsch and Blake Evans to make the final score.
The 4-3 Bulls host Pipestone on Sunday.
The 5-2 Martins host Lakefield next Wednesday.

Lakefield lost to WIndom at Stan King Field on Wednesday.
The Pirates took home a 12-2 win over the Horned Frogs.
The 0-6 Horned Frogs host Pipestone on Sunday.
The 7-0 Pirates host Luverne on Sunday.

Worthington outlasted Heron Lake at home on Wednesday.
The Cubs beat the Lakers 7-5 at Trojan Baseball Field.
The Lakers took the initial lead in the top of the first. The Cubs responded with a pair of runs in the bottom half. Worthington added one more in the third, two in the fourth, and one in the fifth for a 6-1 lead. Heron Lake scored three runs in the sixth and one more in the top of the seventh. The Cubs added one more in the home half for the final tally.
Logan Knutson pitched a complete game for the Lakers with eight strikeouts and no walks as four of the Cubs runs were earned.
Kyle Ludewig batted in a pair of runs with a double. Isaac Habben collected a single, sac bunt, and plated his own pair of runs. Tim Salentiny and Jonathon Curry each finished with two hits.
The 0-5 Lakers host Hadley on Sunday.
The 3-4 Cubs visit the Milroy Irish on Sunday.

The 5-1 Buttermakers visit Granite Falls on Saturday.
The 4-2 Irish host Worthington on Sunday.
