Bulls drop home opener, Frogs lose in Worthington

The Jackson Bulls dropped their home opener against the Windom Pirates on Sunday.
The Pirates beat the Bulls 6-1 at Wacker Field.
Easton Bahr was hit by a pitch and later scored on a single by Blake Evans for the only Jackson run. Bahr, Andy Wolf, and Tyler Netsch also hit singles.
Ryan Rasche had a trio of strikeouts and allowed a trio of earned runs on six hits in 4.2 innings of work on the mound. Andrew Boyum, Alex Bretzman, Will Larson, and Javen Baumgarn also pitched for Jackson. Baumgarn had four strikeouts.
The 1-1 Bulls visit Fox Lake in Truman next Sunday.
The Lakefield Horned Frogs lost to the Worthington Cubs on Sunday.
The Cubs beat the Horned Frogs 8-5 at Trojan Field.
Dustin Pronk had a pair of hits and batted in two runs. Taylor Christopher had a pair of hits and scored twice. Bryce Christopher had two hits and scored a run. Jace Jorgenson, Kash Gilbert, and Justin Holinka each batted in a run. Carson Kolander had a walk and a run. Ike Rodgers walked twice.
Phil Pronk took the loss with three strikeouts and two walks. He allowed five runs with three earned on six hits in four innings. Dustin Pronk had a trio of strikeouts, a pair of walks, and one run allowed in three innings of relief. Holinka and Bryce Christopher finished off the ninth.
The 0-2 Horned Frogs host Fox Lake at Stan King Field on Wednesday night.
