David Botello-Ramos led the Jackson County Central cross country boys to 21st place and Naiya Ayers led the girls at the Gerry Smith Invitational in Montgomery on Thursday.
David Botello-Ramos crossed the finish line with a time of 18:42.2 to earn 45th place.
The other four JCC boys posted season-best times. Kayden Mitchell had 20:11.7 in 98th place, Grant Ambrose had 21:13.1 in 127th place, Gavin Tusa had 21:43.6 in 147th place, Nolan Brinks had 23:15.5 in 172nd place among 190 varsity boys runners.
Mounds Park Academy had the top boys team score with JCC taking 21st out of 27 varsity teams.
Ayers posted 21:44 to earn 30th place in the varsity girls race. Danica Wood had a season-best 24:27.7 in 95th place and Carly Clark had 24:43.5 in 105th place among 159 varsity girls runners.
