Naiya Ayers and David Botello-Ramos will represent Jackson County Central at the Cross County State Meet on Saturday.
Ayers is making her third appearance in the girls race as a sophomore. She was the top Huskies performer as she ran to All-Big South Conference honors in Jackson last month. She finished 51st in 2024 and 79th in 2025 out of 160 runners. Those results happened at the former Les Bolstad Golf Course site.
Botello-Ramos is making his debut in the boys race as a freshman. He posted a personal record to qualify for State and is consistently a top performer for the Huskies this season.
The MSHSL Cross Country Running State Championship is moving to Majestic Oaks Golf Course in Ham Lake this year.
The Class A girls race begins at 12:15 p.m. with the boys race starting at 1:00 p.m. and the awards scheduled for 1:30 p.m.
