The fifth-ranked Martin County West softball team kept their win streak rolling with a dominant Senior Day victory over Minnesota Valley Lutheran on Tuesday.
The 12-1 Mavericks stampeded the Chargers 17-2 in four innings on Senior Day for Emily Schettler, Courtney Anderson, and Addy Wohlhuter.
MCW scored once in the first inning. MVL tied the game in the top of the second and MCW took the 2-1 lead back in the bottom half. The Chargers tied the game again before MCW took over from there. The Mavericks piled up seven runs in the third and eight runs with just one out in the fourth to win by run rule.
Schettler went a perfect 3-for-3 with a solo home run in the second and three-run homer in the fourth to bat in six runs on the day. Anderson had a pair of hits and an RBI. Wohlhuter plated one run and scored twice.
Rowan Faber had a pair of doubles and scored three times. Lillie Schultz had a double and plated two runs. Taylor Hughes batted in two runs as well. Sydney Clow and Hayley Clarke each brought home one run.
The 12-1 Mavericks have won four straight games with a visit to Sleepy Eye St. Mary’s on Tuesday.
