The fifth-ranked Martin County West softball team blanked Sleepy Eye St. Mary’s for a fifth straight win on Tuesday.
The Mavericks beat the Knights 7-0 on the road.
Courtney Anderson had a trio of hits and a pair of runs batted in. Emily Schettler had a pair of hits including a double and plated one run. Ivy Olson had two hits including a double and two RBIs. Lillie Schultz had one hit and brought a run home. Rowan Faber smacked a double as well among 11 MCW hits.
Maddie Carlson and Sydney Clow combined for a three-hit shutout. Carlson had four strikeouts, two hits, and one walk in six innings. Clow tossed a pair of K’s and allowed one hit in the seventh.
The 13-1 Mavericks visit Madelia on Friday.
