LARSON, MCCORKELL LEAD MAVERICKS GOLF TEAMS IN CONFERENCE PLAY

Knox Larson led the Martin County West boys golf team and Morgan McCorkell led the girls in Tomahawk/Valley Conference play on Monday.
Larson tied for sixth place by posting a score of 86 featuring five pars on 18 holes at the New Ulm Country Club.
Carson Scheff shot 104 for 37th place, Tanner Anderson shot 112 for 45th place, Torrey Paplow tied for 51st place with 116, and Xzavier Moore shot 128 for 61st place.
MCW collected a team score of 418 to finish ninth place. Sleepy Eye United scored 333 as the top boys team.
McCorkell posted a score of 113 on 18 holes at Oakdale Golf Club in Buffalo Lake to take 27th place individually.
Mya Smith and Clare Paulson shot 119 to take part in a four-way tie for 32nd place. Aaliyah Bolstad shot 124 in a five-way tie for 40th place. Clare Striemer shot 140 and tied for 52nd place.
MCW tied with New Ulm Cathedral for ninth place with a 475 team score. Springfield collected 390 to pace the girls team scores.
The Mavericks are headed to Madelia on Friday.
