HUSKIES RUN-RULE ARROWS TWICE

The fourth-ranked Jackson County Central softball team brought the run-rule broom to Pipestone during Thursday’s doubleheader.
The Huskies took care of the Arrows 14-3 in six innings in game one.
Pipestone took the 2-0 in the first inning. JCC responded with one run in the second, took over the lead when Bailey Finck smacked a two-run home run in the third, and then never gave the lead back. The Huskies added three more in the fourth and fifth. The Arrows scored once in the home half of the fifth. JCC scored five more in the sixth before finishing off the win.
Finck ended up with a pair of hits including the homer, batted in both of those runs, stole three bases, and scored four times. Kinley VanDeVere had three hits including a triple, plated three runs, and scored once. Hadley Wachal had her own pair of hits including a double and had three RBIs. CJ Pauling and Braelyn Boogerd each hit a single, drew one walk, and scored twice. Cora Pauling and Brielle Tufvesson each hit an RBI single. Mady Wachal hit a single and scored twice. Baylie Holmes had a walk, an RBI, and scored once.
Hadley Wachal went the distance in the circle for the win and tossed eight strikeouts with all three runs earned on three hits plus a pair of walks.
The Huskies blanked the Arrows 10-0 in five innings in game two.
JCC scored once in the first and second before breaking it open with five in the fourth and three more in the fifth to walk off with the run-rule victory.
Mady Wachal struck out nine and walked one batter during her one-hit five-inning shutout.
Brielle Tufvesson and Miley VanDeVere each had a pair of hits including a double. Tufvesson also scored three times. Miley and Kinley VanDeVere each scored twice along with Braelyn Boogerd. Boogerd, Kinley VanDeVere, and Mady Wachal each batted in a pair of runs. Bailey Finck batted in a run as well.
The 8-1 Huskies carry a five-game winning streak into Windom on Friday. The Eagles are 5-6 after snapping a three-game losing streak with a Thursday run-rule victory in Marshall. JCC is seeking a sixth straight victory over Windom.
