Comments From SLO Boys Tennis Coach Dan Taylor
Team champion was Spencer. Spirit Lake Okoboji was second in the team standings.
SLO had 4 of our 6 players finish with all-conference honors. Luke Schneider was 1st team all conference- he went undefeated at 4-0 at #1 singles and only lost 5 total games all day. JD Gravert and Owen Riphagen also received first team all-conference honors, going 3-1 and finishing in 2nd place at #1 doubles. And Pedro Fagundes was honorable mention all-conference by going 2-2 in #2 singles and finishing in 3rd Place. Tucker Nikkel and Oliver Harris went 3-1 and finished in 2nd place in #2 singles.
Overall it was a successful day. Of course you like to finish in 1st as a team, but Spencer played outstanding against us head to head, winning 3 of the 4 matchups. Luke had an amazing day at #1 singles, winning all of his sets by wide margins. Pedro did well in a tough #2 singles division, and Owen and JD only had the 1 loss to Spencer and had a great day too.
