Ladies! You deserve a night out with your friends! On Friday, November 15th, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Women in Nature Day (WIND) at Night will take place at the Maser Monarch Lodge.
WIND is a local collaboration of the Dickinson County Conservation Board, ISU Extension and Outreach of Dickinson County, Iowa Lakeside Laboratory, and Clay County Conservation Board to bring together women who have an interest of the outdoors.
The evening will begin with appetizers and samples of refreshments from West O Beer and Little Swan Lake Winery. Following social time, groups will rotate between two unique sessions.
“Attendees will encounter a live owl, courtesy of Buena Vista County Conservation, to learn about owl adaptations, behavior, and flight navigation,” said Amy Heibult, community relations coordinator for Dickinson County Conservation Board.
“For the second session, guests will wander through space in the StarLab dome to discover constellations of the night sky and the Greek mythology associated with each one,” Heibult said.
Registration is only $10 per person and ladies, 18 years or older, can register by visiting
or calling the Dickinson County Nature Center at (712) 336-6352.
