Templar Park and Free Masonry – HISTORY LIVES!

November 12, 2024 – 7:00pm – Dickinson Co. Museum

Free Masonry is the world’s oldest fraternity, dedicated to a variety of charitable causes with a mission for “making good men better.” Mike Johnson is the Deputy District Commander of the Grand Commandery of the Knights Templar of Iowa and will be speaking during the Dickinson County Museum’s “Templar Park and Free Masonry” History LIVES! presentation Tuesday, November 12th at 7:00 pm at the Museum.

John Smeltzer, president of the Spirit Lake Protective Association and a driving force for honoring the history of Templar Park will be presenting stories of “what was” and “what may be” at Templar Park.

Together these two experts will bring together an understanding of Free Masonry AND Templar Park – giving participants a clear picture of the importance of Templar Park and those who built, owned, and loved a major part of Dickinson County history. The program will be live-streamed and later added to our website.
