“The Spirit of Harmony Soars Once More!”
Have you ever wondered about the secret lives of bees? The Spirit of Harmony Chorus presents its annual fall show! “What’s All The Buzz About?” The show will take place Saturday, November 7, 2026, at 2:00 P.M. at the Janice K. Lund
Performing Arts Center, located at the Iowa Lake Community College Campus in Estherville, Iowa. The chorus will take its audience on an entertaining and colorful musical adventure adapted from the children’s book Buzzy the Bumblebee by
Denise Brennan-Nelson. The show is set in a beautiful garden made up of brilliantly colored flowers including a bumble bee family, and a cheerful garden gnome who tells the tale of a bumble bee who has to find her courage to fly once
more! Over the years this story has come to mean a lot to the Spirit of Harmony Chorus and it has been an influence in them becoming an award winning chorus. They have learned to believe in themselves just like Buzzy! Having the right
positive can-do mindset led them to being the winners of their spring 2026 regional competition held in Rochester, MN, this last April. The chorus then decided it would be fun to bring this sweet story to life and share their inspiration with all.
They can’t wait to share fun jokes, great harmonies, and a story that has come to mean a lot to the chorus members over the years. The show features the Spirit of Harmony Chorus along with Affinity Quartet. A featured guest performer in this
year’s show is local legend Glenn Henriksen, a pianist who has thrilled audiences throughout the northwest Iowa area. The second half of the show will feature the chorus and Affinity Quartet singing competition selections as well as other songs
from their repertoire including some songs the chorus will take to regional and international competition for Sing United in the fall of 2027. Proceeds from this show go to help offset expenses of going to these competitions. So come find out
more about the secret lives of bees and what really makes them soar with confidence!
