Friday, September 27, 2024 – 5:00pm – Isthmus Park
Dickinson County Nature Center invites families to September Family Nature Night: Fishing Night on Friday, September 27th at 5:00 p.m. The event will occur in Isthmus Park, where attendees will learn how to identify Iowa fish species, learn about proper gear, and practice casting to catch fish. Dickinson County Nature Center will provide the equipment and bait necessary to try some catch-and-release fishing.
“What better way to spend some time together than fishing in one of the best fishing regions of the state,” said Amy Heibult, community relations coordinator of Dickinson County Nature Center. “This is a great time to try fishing for the first time, especially if you don’t have to have your own equipment.”
“Participants who are 18 years and older, who would like to do some fishing, require a valid fishing license for this event,” said Heibult. “Also, we want to remind families to dress in layers for fluctuating temperatures, especially now that we are in the season of warm days and cool evenings.”
Family Nature Night is free to the public, but we do require preregistration by September 25th at 5:00 p.m. Visit online by going to the programs/events tab at www.dickinsoncountynaturecenter.com or by calling 712-336-6352.
