NATURE EXPLORERS (Ages 5-12)

Wednesday, June 19, 2024 – 10:30am – Dickinson County Nature Center

The Dickinson County Nature Center is offering Nature Explorers to youth ages 5-12. This program is designed to dive deeper into science-related topics and keep brains active and learning during the summer months.

Nature Explorers, for this summer, was inspired by Sandra Markle’s ‘What if you had…?’ book series. On Wednesday, June 19th, at 10:30 a.m., attendees will use their imaginations and learn about what it would be like to have animal hair. We will look at different pelts and fur and the different adaptations that allow animals to thrive in certain environments. 

Nature Center staff are looking forward to this more advanced lesson about animal characteristics. 

“I believe that it’s important for youth to observe the more specific details about wildlife, and Nature Explorers offers an interactive lesson that sparks the imagination in an outdoor learning environment,” said Amy Heibult, community relations coordinator.
