MILFORD MEMORIAL LIBRARY – Civilian Conservation Corps in Northeast Iowa with Author Linda McCann

McCann will share about her book, Civilian Conservation Corps on Wednesday, September 14, 2022, at 6:30PM. She will be reading from her book and sharing stories from personal interviews. There will be time for questions and books will be available for purchase. The Civilian Conservation Corps was a federal program to assist young men in supporting their families. Most Iowans know about all the work done in our state parks, but that was only 25 percent of what they worked on. MOst of their work projects dealt with soil erosion, flood, and drought prevention and planting trees. She is still working on the western part of the state, so she welcomes anyone who was in the CCC contacting her. This event is free to the public and no registration is required to attend. This program is sponsored by the Friends of the Milford Memorial Library and Friends of the Arnolds Park Library.
