Howlin’ Halloween at Dickinson County Nature Center

Halloween has many spooky and scary myths about local wildlife. Join Dickinson County Nature Center staff for our annual event – Howlin’ Halloween: Unmasking the Monsters, on Friday, October 25th, from 5:00-6:00 p.m.

“This is a fun opportunity to learn about animals that may seem spooky and subside the fears associated with them,” said Amy Heibult, community relations coordinator for the Nature Center. 

Families can explore the Nature Playscape while hunting for masked stuffed animals placed throughout the area. The masks will have a letter that attendees need to write down. Once they have the final word, they can turn their sheet in for a small prize.

“The activity helps unveil some of the common myths and fears associated with wildlife,” said Heibult.  “Families will also meet some of our animal ambassadors and make a spider necklace to take home or wear for Halloween.”

“This is the best time of year for outdoor events when the fall temps are getting lower, and our trees are turning colors,” Heibult said.
