Cultural Workshop and Simulation

Truth be told – I am human. A movement that’s creating space to “get comfortable being uncomfortable” as we navigate the conversations of our changing communities and create a sense of belonging is coming to Estherville.

On Thursday, May 23, from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., the Rotary Club of Estherville and Rotary District 5970 will be hosting the Cultural Immersion Workshop and immersion experience at the Janice K. Lund Performing Arts Center on the campus of Iowa Lakes Community College, a cosponsor, on the Estherville campus. It’s a workshop like no other you’ve ever experienced when it comes to the conversations that connect humans across identities and backgrounds.

Entrepreneurs, individuals, business and nonprofit industry leaders should attend. You will learn: 1) valuable insights to stand out authentically, 2) how to uniquely expand your cultural vision in life and business, and 3) how to have an effective voice in the conversation, at the executive table, around the kitchen table, or with passionate individuals in the community. This workshop includes a cultural informant speaker panel with members from across northwest Iowa and the Lakes area. The immersion experience is sponsored in part by the Rotary Club of Estherville, the Rotary Club of Spirit Lake, Rotary District 5970, and Iowa Lakes Community College.

Registration includes an international lunch and snacks and refreshments throughout the day as well as materials and admission to the event.
