Spirit Lake Softball Comes From Behind In Win Over HLP

Harris Lake Park looked to be in control of a 6-2 game as they entered the bottom half of the seventh inning in Spirit Lake but the Indians scored seven runs to take a 9-6 lead and the win.  For Spirit Lake, Paige Peterson had a single, a walk, and scored two runs.  Mikayla Brockmeyer had a big double in the seventh inning and scored a run.  Hannah Sudbrink had a double and scored a run.  The Indians as a team collected seven hits while making just three errors in the field.  Bailee Newman got the win on the mound.  She gave up six runs on eight hits while striking out seven.  Harris-Lake Park was led by Noreen Morrow and Morgan Eggers with two hits each. Macy Gunderson suffered the loss.  She gave up nine runs on seven hits and struck out five. 

The Indians improve to 1-2 on the year and travel to MOC-Floyd Valley on Tuesday for a non-conference matchup.  The Wolves are 0-2 and travel to Okoboji on Tuesday for another non-conference game.
