Softball Results from Tuesday, June 11

North Union scored three runs in the second, fourth, and fifth innings en route to a 10-3 victory over Okoboji in Milford on Tuesday night.

The Warriors’ Allie Ingalls and Taylor Mathine each went 4-for-4 and scored three runs. One of Ingalls’ hits was a 2 run homer in the fifth. She also got the win on the mound, giving up three runs on six hits while striking out 9. North Union is now 13-0 and travels to Spencer on Thursday.

The Pioneers saw both Clare Eckard and Anna Seeger go 2-for-3 with a pair of hits each. Both also scored a run. Savannah Heithus took the loss on the mound. She pitched the first five innings, giving up all 10 runs on 14 hits while striking out two.

Sydney Boeckholt pitched the final two innings for Okoboji, giving up no runs on one hit while striking out a pair. The Pioneers are 3-9 and travel to Sioux Center on Wednesday.

The Spirit Lake Softball team downed Sibley-Ocheydan, 12-2, last night.  The Indians play at Western Christian, tonight.

The Harris Lake Park softball team fell, 3-2, to Central Lyon/George-Little Rock.

It was tied at 2,  when Central Lyon –George Little Rock scored in the top of the seventh.   HLP was able to get a runner on 2nd, in the bottom of the 7th, but was unable to score.  Macy Gunderson pitched all 7 innings for the Wolves.  She gave up just two hits, and pitched two strike outs.  Noreen Morrow and Miranda Brueggeman each went 1-3 with an RBI.  Brueggeman had an RBI double in the 2nd inning and Morrow had an RBI single in the 3rd inning. 

The Wolves will compete in a tournament, Saturday, at Akron-Westfield.
 

Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn knocked off South O’Brien, 8-5.  The Hawks are home, tonight, against Hinton.


Bishop-Garrigan edged Emmetsburg, 3-2.  The E-Hawks host Storm Lake, tonight.  You can hear that game on Y100 with coverage starting at 7 o’clock.
