ILCC Soccer To Hold Pink Out Night

Members of the Iowa Lakes Community College Men’s and Women’s Soccer Teams are planning ‘Pink Out!’ games to help raise money to fight breast cancer through the Abben Cancer Center of Spencer Hospital.

The games will be held Wednesday, Oct. 23, at the Lakehouse in Spencer, which is the home pitch of the Lakers. Men play at 2 p.m. and the Laker Women will be on the pitch for a 4 p.m. match-up.  Both games are against Iowa Central Community College.  Admission is free.  Attendees are encouraged to wear pink to support the cause.

All team members will be wearing a pink jersey with their individual player number on it, along with the Iowa Lakes soccer logo.  Those shirts are part of a silent auction with proceeds benefiting the fight against breast cancer.  The public is encouraged to bid on the shirts.  Those interested are asked to email Assistant Coach Sheena Van Roekel at svanroekel@iowalakes.edu or call 712-580-8640 and leave a message.  Bidders are asked to state the amount of money they would like to spend and which player’s jersey they wish to bid upon.
Proceeds from all fundraising activities during the “Pink Out!’ games will go to the Abben Cancer Center of Spencer Hospital.

On the Spencer campus, a donation jar is available for drop-in financial contributions. In addition, the Spencer Student Senate has started a student raffle for a laptop computer.  Additional special activities and give-aways are currently in the process of being planned.

The Lakehouse is located just southeast of the Spencer Middle School on the premier pitch in the Spencer Soccer Complex.
