Spirit Lake loses two to Western Christian

Spirit Lake dropped a pair of Lakes Conference games to Western Christian Tuesday night.  In the girls contest, Western forced 28 Spirit Lake turnovers, winning 67-32.  Emma Dau was the leading scorer for the Indians with 7 points. Western Christian was paced by Erika Douma with 14.  The win improves the Wolfpack’s record to 6-0, 3-0 in conference play.  Spirit Lake falls to 3-3, and 2-1.  Meanwhile, in the boy’s game, Western Christian got out to a fast start, beating Spirit Lake 85-62.  The half time difference of a 48-25 lead for the Wolfpack ended up the margin of victory, as the Indians played the number 1 team in the state even the rest of the way.  Alec Henrickson paced Spirit Lake with 25 points.  Kyle Fopma of Western Christian also finished with 25.  Next up for the Spirit Lake boys is a non conference game against Crestwood Friday in Spirit Lake.  The girls next contest is a Lakes Conference match up with Estherville Lincoln Central.  The Midgets visit Spirit Lake this Saturday, with the boys starting at 4:15, and the girls game to follow around 6.
