Spirit Lake traveled to Lemars Friday night and split with the Bulldogs in Lakes Conference basketball. The girls side saw Spirit Lake pull ahead early, and continue that trend, winning 58-34. Emma Dau was the leading scorer for the game, throwing in 17 for the Indians. She was the only player in double figures for Spirit Lake, who saw 9 different players score during the game. Lemars was paced by Emily Ahlers with 13. The Spirit Lake girls improve to 9-3 on the season, and are now 6-1 in Lakes Conference play.
The boys game was close thru 3 quarters before Lemars pulled away in the 4th to get the win over Spirit Lake 62-45. Alec Henrickson hit just 2 field goals for the game, but did go 10 of 12 from the free throw line to finish with 15 points. Trevor Smith also finished in double figures with 11. Tyler Borchers of Lemars led all scorers in the game with 25. The Spirit Lake boys fall to 8-3, and 4-3 in league play.
