Girls Game:
MOC-Floyd Valley overcame first half foul trouble to beat Okoboji 59-31 in Milford on Friday night. The Pioneers got down 18-6 after one quarter but rallied in the second quarter to go into the lockeroom down 31-22 at halftime. At one point the lead was down to four in the second. In the third quarter, the Dutch extended their lead to 15, and then put the clamps on the Pioneers in the fourth quarter, allowing just two points in the final period.
Okoboji’s Darby Jones had 15 points to lead the Pioneers on senior night. MOC-FV’s Bre Harmelink hit four three pointers and led all scorers with 19. Okoboji is 14-6 (12-5 Siouxland) and at Sibley-Ocheyedan on Tuesday. The game can be heard on Q102. The Dutch are 19-1 (17-0 Siouxland) and play at Sioux Center on Tuesday.
Boys Game:
Okoboji tried their best to send their seniors out with a win in their final home game, but MOC-Floyd Valley ran away from a tight ballgame in the fourth quarter and won 78-60 in Milford on Friday night. The Pioneers trailed 21-18 after one quarter. In the second, they gave up just 9 points and led 32-30 at halftime. The Dutch regained the lead after three 52-47.
Okoboji had three players in double figures. Alex Heller had 18 points. Tyeson Barnett had 11, while Holt Hunziker had 10. Okoboji is 2-17 (1-15) and plays at Sibley-Ocheyedan on Tuesday.
