(Spencer)– Officials with the Spencer Economic Development Corporation, or SEDC, say they’re in discussion with a developer who’s expressed some interest in building housing in the community.
SEDC President Jason Warren says they hosted Iowa-based housing developer Kading Properties in July to showcase Spencer’s housing opportunities, workforce needs and ongoing development efforts. The visit was part of Kading’s Hometown Tours, in which the company selects five communities each year to visit. Warren says Kading representatives visited various community assets and development sites in Spencer.
Kading has developments in several Iowa communities, including Storm Lake, and has one currently under construction in Cherokee.
Warren says nothing has been confirmed yet for Spencer. He says their discussions with Kading are ongoing.
