Christenson wins I-90 Invitational in Fairmont

Evelynn Christenson won the girls I-90 Invitational race to lead the Martin County West cross country effort in Fairmont on Thursday.
Christenson crossed the finish line first with a time of 20:40.7 at Cedar Creek Park.
Kate Swanson ran 24.15 in 26th place, Elena De La Torre ran 26:23.9 in 45th place, Sydni Fritz ran 27:08.2 in 48th place, and Reese Peters ran 33:09.1 in 59th place among 64 runners in the 5,000-meter race.
The MCW girls collected 179 points and took sixth place out of seven teams by tiebreaker with Worthington.
Brody Cook led the MCW boys to third place as a team.
Cook ran 18:34.4 for ninth place, Marek Mulder ran 19:10.3 in 14th place, Elliot Reynolds ran 19:40.8 in 19th place, Henry Fuller ran 19:51.3 in 21st place, and Conrad Gwin ran 20:22.3 in 24th place for the Mavericks.
The MCW boys collected 87 points to take third among eight teams.
Lincoln Cepress ran 21:56.1 in 36th place, Beckett White ran 22:39.2 in 49th place, Jaxson Baer ran 23:27.8 in 54th place, Aaron Sauck ran 24:13.2 in 58th place, and Carter Cole ran 28:15 in 65th place out of 65 boys runners.
The next scheduled action for the Mavericks is the Blackhawk Invitational in Madelia on Tuesday.

Botello-Ramos, Ayers lead Huskies to top-four team finishes

David Botello-Ramos led the Jackson County Central cross country boys to fourth place and Naiya Ayers led the JCC girls to third at the I-90 Invitational in Fairmont on Thursday.
Botello-Ramos earned third place with a time of 17:34 as the top JCC boy.
Kayden Mitchell ran 19:00.7 in 13th place, Brycen Mitchell ran 19:21.1 in 16th place, Grant Ambrose ran 20:41.7 in 28th place, and Gavin Tusa ran 20:50.2 in 29th place.
The JCC boys collected 89 points in fourth place out of eight teams. Luverne swept the team scores.
Nolan Brinks ran 21:57.9 in 37th place and Eric Bouten ran 23:02.9 in 52nd place for JCC among 65 varsity boys runners.
Ayers came home sixth place with a time of 21:41.7 as the top JCC girl.
Carly Clark ran 23:44.6 in 20th place, Abigail Mohr ran 23:56.5 in 25th place, Danica Wood ran 24:43.9 in 31st place, and Samantha Van Wyhe ran 26:07.5 in 41st place.
The JCC girls collected 124 points to take third place out of seven varsity girls teams.
Arya Olson also ran 31:36.4 in 57th place among 64 varsity girls runners.
The next scheduled action for the Huskies is the Plocker Invitational hosted by Blue Earth Area at Minn Iowa Golf Course in Elmore on Tuesday.
