The top-ranked Jackson County Central football team visits much-improved Minnesota Valley Lutheran at Johnson Field in New Ulm on Friday night.
The 4-0 Huskies pitched their second shutout of the season last week with the offense, defense, and special teams all scoring at least one touchdown. JCC is averaging 42 points per game in the first half of the regular season. Opponents are managing just 8.5 points per game. The Huskies are looking to add once again to active winning streaks of 30 games and 37 in the regular season.
The 3-1 Chargers opened the season with a loss to one of the state’s premier programs in Minneota. They haven’t lost since with wins over LeSueur-Henderson, Pipestone, and Windom. MVL has posted back-to-back shutouts and collected a combined score of 55-0 over the past two weeks. JCC has beaten MVL in all four meetings, including the 2023 playoffs, since the Chargers moved up to Section 3AA for the 2021 season.
Coverage begins at 6:40 p.m. with kickoff at 7:00 p.m. on KKOJ.
