(Lake Park)– An informational event was held Wednesday evening in Lake Park as voters there next month will decide the fate of a $4.6 million bond issue for a new emergency services facility that would house the fire department and ambulance.
The current fire station in Lake Park was constructed in 1979. Chief Brandon Ehret says they’ve outgrown the facility and need more room for larger trucks and training. The ambulance is headquartered out of a different building several blocks away. The new joint facility would be constructed on land on the south edge of Lake Park.
Plans call for the project to go out for bids in the spring with construction later in 2027, provided the bond issue is approved by voters November 3rd.
