The Martin County West football team is looking to protect homecoming grass with consistency when Lester Prairie visits on Friday night.
The 2-1 Mavericks bounced all the way back with a Thursday night rout of Madelia last week.
The explosive MCW offense is scoring nearly 45 points per game and the defense is holding opponents to 19 points on average. The Mavericks hung with state-ranked Mayer Lutheran for part of the game on the road two weeks ago after blanking Windom at home in the season opener.
Lester Prairie is 1-2 overall after losing a competitive opener to LeSueur-Henderson, beating BOLD at home, and last week’s road loss in St. James.
The Bulldogs have a positive point differential with an average score of 21-20 near the halfway point of the regular season.
Coverage begins at 6:40 p.m. with the kickoff scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Xtreme.
