(Arnolds Park)– A special event tomorrow (Fri.) will raise funds for Imagination Library of Dickinson County. Amy Pas, who started up the program locally, says similar events will be going on in other areas as well tomorrow (Fri.), which will be appropriate given the date…
“It’s 9/25, so they’re calling it Give Like Dolly Day for Imagination Library which is her big philanthropy, and The Ritz is going to have a very fun event. They’re going to have t-shirts for sale. The proceeds are going to go to Imagination Library in Dickinson county. They’re going to have a Dolly Parton lookalike contest, they’re going to have music and all kinds of things. It’s going to be a fun, fundraiser!”
Pas says Imagination Library of Dickinson County has proved to be a huge success…
“Currently right now we have 475 children in Dickinson county under the age of five enrolled in the program and receiving a free book once a month, age appropriate, so we’ve had a very good turnout. We’ve also had 116 people who have quote unquote graduated from the program in Dickinson county. That happens when you’re five years old, you graduate from the program. So we’ve served 591 little ones here, just in Dickinson county, through the program. It’s really been a big hit here.”
Pas says she’ll be on hand at tomorrow’s (Fri.) event with more information about Imagination Library…
“I’ll have brochures, I’ll have some bookmarks to hand out and I’ll be there to show some samples of books and I’ll have answers for any questions anybody might have.”
The event begins at 5:00 pm Friday (Sept. 25th) at The Ritz.
Pas urges residents in other counties that have Imagination Libraries to donate to their respective program as well.
