(Sheldon)– An explosion this (Mon.) morning caused some damage at the Kent Feeds facility in Sheldon.
Sheldon Fire Chief Brad Hindt says firefighters were called to the scene shortly after 5:00 am. He says they met with employees and observed visible damage to the east side of a tower in the north part of the feed mill operations. A drone from O’Brien County Emergency Management was used to check for hot spots and to determine the exact amount of damage. Hindt says nothing of concern was found.
He says the cause was accidental, adding that employees were starting up a grain dryer when the incident occurred. There were no reports of injuries.
Firefighters were on the scene about an hour.
