(Spencer)– A new Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner is joining the staff at Community Health Center in Spencer.
Heather Martin began her nursing education at Iowa Central Community College, earning an associate’s degree in nursing in 2009. She went on to receive her bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Iowa in 2015. She holds two master’s degrees from Briar Cliff University, earning a master’s degree in Healthcare Administration in 2022 and a master’s degree as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner in 2026. Her professional background includes experience in inpatient geriatric behavioral health as well as working with children with disabilities.
Officials with Community Health Center say the addition of Martin marks a significant expansion of their mental health services.
