(Spencer)– Agriculture takes center stage today (Thurs.) at the Clay County Fair. General Manager and CEO Jason Brockshus says it’s Farmer Appreciation Day and Iowa Corn Day here at the fair…
“It’s Iowa Corn Day on the grounds, so they always have some displays and activities, and then leading into some ag education. You know, water quality is very important. I reached out to a group called the Lobe Rangers. They do a lot of water quality work, kind of in the Des Moines watershed area. They’re going to have a program in the ballroom in the event center around 3:30. So it’s Farmer Appreciation Day, Iowa Corn Day. If water quality is a passion of yours come listen to those folks share some potential options in the ballroom at 3:30.”
Tonight’s (Thurs.) featured grandstand entertainment is Battle of the Blue Ribbon spring car races beginning with hot laps at 7:00 pm. Fireworks will follow.
The Clay County Fair Powered by SMU continues through Sunday in Spencer.
