The Martin County West volleyball team still has yet to lose a set in four matches this season.
The Mavericks swept Mountain Lake Area-Comfrey by set scores of 25-9, 25-21, and 25-9 on Tuesday night in Comfrey.
MCW controlled the first and third sets throughout but the Wolverines rallied with nine straight points to take the lead late in the second set before the Mavericks recovered to help keep their 12-set win streak alive.
MCW head coach Kari Brolsma says the team needs to have moments like that so they can respond the right way.
Maddie Carlson led MCW with 10 kills and six digs plus one block and one ace serve. Rowan Faber led the team with 11 digs and three aces. Ida Rohman collected 26 set assists and one block.
Brynlee Haukos had six kills and three digs plus one ace. Jaylee Hanson had seven kills and three digs. Bailey Larson had five kills, two digs, and one block. Giana Chase posted four kills, a dig, and a block. Morgan McCorkell, Sydnee Borchardt, and Taylor Hughes each had three digs as well. Lillie Schultz had a pair of digs.
The 4-0 Mavericks are receiving votes in the latest Class A poll from the Minnesota Volleyball Coaches Association. They return home to host Madelia on Thursday night in Trimont.
