Position Summary
The Buyer plays a key role in supporting production by managing materials through MRP systems, maintaining optimal inventory levels, and building strong vendor partnerships. This position balances analytical thinking, communication, and negotiation to ensure materials are available on time and aligned with lean manufacturing principles.

Key Responsibilities
Analyze MRP reports to determine material needs and place purchase orders accordingly
Maintain inventory levels to support production demand while aligning with lean practices
Monitor supplier performance and ensure on-time delivery of materials
Coordinate outside vendor services based on production requirements
Communicate material shortages and estimated replenishment timelines to internal teams
Maintain accurate MRP system data (lead times, min/max levels, order points, vendor info)
Build and maintain strong vendor relationships; proactively follow up on open orders
Negotiate pricing, terms, and cost-saving opportunities with suppliers
Process returns for defective materials and resolve quality issues with vendors
Assist with invoice and receiving discrepancies to ensure accurate reconciliation

What We’re Looking For
Degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field (or equivalent experience)
Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel skills strongly preferred)
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Ability to analyze data and make informed purchasing decisions
Effective communication and relationship-building skills
Team-oriented mindset with a willingness to learn and grow

Stand Out If You Have
Experience working with MRP/ERP systems
Background in manufacturing or purchasing
Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles
