(Arnolds Park)– The final numbers are in for this year’s Bras for a Cause. Organizer Di Lorenzen tells KUOO news it surpassed all expectations…
“We officially raised $61,372. Thank you to the community, our wonderful sponsors, because we couldn’t do that without all the great people in our community and for the cause that we raise that money for, going to cancer patients down at the Abben Cancer Center. It goes to the foundation down there and they set up a specific fund just for this money to go directly to cancer patients. It goes to things like hotel night stays, gas cards, or somebody that’s just in need of food. It goes directly to the cancer patients that are in need of help while they’re going through their cancer journey.”
The $61,000 raised this year was more than double the $25,000 raised during last year’s event.
Lorenzen says preparations are already underway for the 2027 Bras for a Cause…
“So if you’d like to be on a committee, stop by the Peacock and talk to Lyda or Jantina down there or one of the gals. Just give us your name and your number and your email and we’ll get you on the committee. Because it does take a whole community to do something this significant and for such a wonderful cause.”
She thanks all the sponsors who made this year’s event possible along with the Peacock Lounge as well everyone who attended.
