(Undated)– The latest beach monitoring data issued late last week by the Iowa Department of Natural Resources shows swimming is still not recommended at a public beach on the southwest Side of West Lake Okoboji. The weekly report issued this past Thursday continued to show high levels of E-coli bacteria at the public beach at the Emmerson Bay Recreational area.
The report shows swimming areas at Crandall’s Beach, Marble Beach, and Ainsworth Beach, all on Big Spirit Lake, along with those at Pikes Point, Triboji, and Gull Point, all on West Lake Okoboji, were listed as okay for swimming at the time the report was issued.
