(Milford)– A longstanding summer celebration takes place this weekend. Lisa Duffy of the Milford Commercial Club says the 58th annual Pioneer Days will be going on with festivities kicking off on Friday with city-wide garage sales and a bake sale, followed by some activities at Florence Park from 4:00 until 7:00 pm…
“We’ll have inflatables, we’ll have activities for kids, there’s a kiddie parade, and then there is the 600 free franks, so we invite you to come to that, and then we’ll also have Captain Kirby Train, there will be train rides. They will also be a foam party for kids.”
Saturday’s highlights include the Pioneer Days Parade at 11:00 am…
“We welcome you to come be in the parade or come watch that. And then after that come to Florence Park for the burger feed which the Cattlemen will be grilling up burgers; free watermelon feed by Kiwanis; and then again more inflatables, kid’s games, there will be also the train and then we have a bags tournament.”
Duffy says there’s even more fun to be had on Sunday…
“We have the Boy Scouts doing a pancake feed; we’ll have the TRAWL which is the Tractor Ride Around West Lake which is fun to watch and take part in; or if you’re hungry for omelets you can come to St. Joe’s Church; and then at 1:15 you can come and get registered to play BINGO at 2:00.”
Steve Anderson, a former Mayor of Milford, is this year’s Grand Marshal of the Pioneer Days Parade.
Duffy thanks all of the businesses in the area who sponsored activities or donated prizes for the weekend along with volunteers.
