League playoffs begin Wednesday in Region 10C

Six of the 11 teams in Region 10C of the Minnesota Baseball Association begin the League playoffs on Wednesday night. 

The trio of playoff series featuring First Nite or Gopher league teams are best-of-three with two wins needed to advance to the Region playoffs. 

Jackson is the #6 seed hosting #11 Heron Lake at Wacker Field. 

The Bulls are 9-6 overall and the Lakers are 0-15 overall entering the postseason. Jackson routed Heron Lake twice during the regular season. 

Game 2 is in Heron Lake on Saturday and Game 3, if necessary, will be played on Sunday in Jackson. 

Fox Lake is the #8 seed hosting #9 Lakefield in Truman. 

The Foxes are 5-8 overall and the Horned Frogs are 3-12 entering the postseason. Fox Lake routed Lakefield twice in the regular season. 

Game 2 is in Lakefield on Friday night and Game 3, if necessary, will be played on Sunday in Truman. 

Worthington is the #7 seed hosting #10 Pipestone.

The Cubs are 5-9 overall and the A’s are 3-11 entering the postseason. Worthington outlasted Pipestone twice in the regular season. 

Game 2 is in Pipestone on Friday and Game 3, if necessary, will be played in Worthington on Sunday. 

The Windom Pirates, Fairmont Martins, Milroy Irish, Luverne Redbirds, and Hadley Buttermakers are waiting in the next round. The Pirates are 14-1 overall. The Martins are 11-4 overall. The Irish, Redbirds, and Buttermakers are all 10-4 overall entering the playoffs. 

Fairmont beat Milroy and lost to Luverne and Hadley as part of the tiebreakers. Milroy has the tiebreaker over Luverne and Hadley by Gopher league record as well. 

The top five seeds in the 11-team group get a bye to the Region playoffs.

First pitch is at 7:30 p.m. for all of the games on Wednesday night.
