Kennel Supervisor

Pay: Starting at $17.00/hour
Job Type: Full-time / Part-time
Schedule: Daytime shifts, with some evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
Reports to: Practice Manager

Overview

We are looking for a dependable, motivated Kennel Supervisor to help lead and grow our boarding program. This role goes beyond daily animal care, it is a trusted position responsible for creating a safe, consistent, and welcoming environment for pets and their owners, while helping shape the continued development of our boarding services.

As our boarding department grows, this position offers opportunities to take on additional responsibility and grow within the role.

Key Responsibilities

Operations & Animal Care

*Oversee daily kennel operations to ensure high-quality, safe animal care
*Monitor animal health, behavior, and wellbeing; report concerns and administer medications as directed
*Ensure animals receive individualized attention and appropriate accommodations

Leadership & Team Support

*Supervise, guide, and support kennel staff in daily duties and animal handling
*Train team members on procedures, safety, and care standards
*Help maintain a calm, consistent, and organized working environment

Client Experience & Communication

*Serve as a key point of contact for pet owners during drop-off and pick-up
*Provide professional updates and ensure a positive boarding experience
*Build trust with clients that encourages repeat stays and referrals

Facility & Program Growth

*Maintain clean, safe, and well-organized kennel and common areas
*Help strengthen and grow our boarding program through excellent care and client experience
*Support Facebook updates and basic marketing efforts for the boarding facility

Administrative & Coordination Tasks

*Maintain accurate records (feeding, medications, health, behavior notes)
*Assist with staff scheduling and coverage coordination
*Participate in team communication and facility organization

Emergency Response

*Respond appropriately to animal or facility emergencies and escalate when needed

What We’re Looking For

*Experience in animal care, boarding, or a related field preferred
*Strong reliability and follow-through in daily responsibilities
*Comfortable handling animals of all sizes and temperaments
*Ability to stay organized in a busy, hands-on environment
*Strong communication and team collaboration skills
*Willingness to take ownership of responsibilities and grow with the department
*Schedule includes primarily daytime shifts, with some evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed

Education

*High school diploma or equivalent required
