The Big South Conference gave postseason recognition to a pair of Jackson County Central baseball players.
Huskies senior Ben Gallagher and junior Talan Holm each received honorable mentions on the Gold team.
Gallagher typically played shortstop and led off for JCC. He posted a .327 batting average and .468 on-base percentage in 49 at bats. Gallagher led the team with 16 hits and 15 runs scored. He co-led the team with four doubles, one triple, and 13 walks. He had six runs batted in and stole three bases.
Holm was the ace of the Huskies pitching staff. He tossed five complete games and was on the mound for four of JCC’s five wins with a 3.08 ERA among 10 starts. Holm surpassed 100 career strikeouts during the playoff game against Windom and finished the year with 56 K’s. He allowed 14 walks, 38 runs with 23 of them earned, and gave up 57 hits in 52.2 innings pitched.
