Boyden Man Escapes Injury In Clay County Semi Crash

June 09, 2026

(Everly)– A Boyden man escaped injury last week in a crash last week involving a semi north of Everly.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says 25-year-old Jacob Foote was operating a 2024 Peterbilt pulling a fully loaded cattle trailer in the 2800 mile of 130th Avenue. Deputies say Foote lost control of the rig after a tire blew out, causing the semi to crash into the west ditch, coming to rest upright.

The cattle were unloaded from the trailer and the tractor and trailer were pulled out of the ditch. The trailer was towed from the scene; another tractor was able to hook onto the trailer and drove it away.

Damage was estimated at about $10,000.

Two towing companies and the Clay County Secondary Roads Department assisted on the scene.
