Luke played extremely well all day. He battled really hard and played a competitive match against the #3 seed and the top player on the best 1A team in the state. In the first round of consolation, he was quite dominant in the first set against Marshall from Newton. Marshall played better the second set, but fortunately Luke stayed steady in the tiebreaker and pulled it out. Then he drew another Wahlert player, and they are the multi-time team state champions for a reason. Once again Luke fought hard bit the Wahlert players play extremely consistent tennis and make guys uncomfortable with a lot of variety in speed and spin. Overall, I am so proud of what Luke accomplished this year, and throughout his career. This year he went undefeated in conference play; both regular season and in the tournament. And he was the first individual state qualifier for us since 2017, so he has a great deal to be proud of!
