KNIGHTS CLOSE DOOR ON HUSKIES SENIOR NIGHT

The Jackson County Central baseball team had another late rally come up short at home against Lake Crystal-Wellcome Memorial on Friday night.
The Knights held off the Huskies 5-2 on Parents Night at Wacker Field.
The Knights built a 3-0 lead with a pair of runs in the top of the first inning and one more in the fifth.
Haiden Warmka put JCC on the board with a sacrifice fly that scored Jace Jorgenson in the sixth.
The Knights got a pair of insurance runs in the seventh.
The Huskies scored once more in their final chance when Ben Gallagher sacrificed Ryan Fricke home on a fielder’s choice.
Carson Doescher pitched into the seventh and tossed seven strikeouts. He gave up all five Knights runs with three of them earned on eight hits plus one walk. Josh Thompson got the final two outs after dealing a strikeout and giving up a pair of hits.
Gallagher had a single to go with his RBI. Kash Gilbert singled as well. Isaac Hesebeck walked twice. JCC recognized that trio along Carson Kolander and Kasey Storm on Senior Night for five Huskies.
The 5-10 Huskies have lost four straight games. The three-game homestand continues on Monday against Worthington.
