(Arnolds Park)– For nearly two decades Pirates Cove and Pirate’s Island locations throughout the US have been holding their Putting for Patriots Fundraiser. Wes Hunziker, part owner and general manager of Pirate’s Cove Adventure Golf in Arnolds Park, says there are two groups who benefit from the fundraiser…
“It’s exciting because we target two different groups the homes for our troops and the Tragedy Assistance Program for survivors. So those two organizations help veterans. And we do that because one of our upper management members is a former marine, and those two organizations are dear to his heart. So those are the ones we’ve been working with for many years now, almost two decades.”
Homes for our Troops builds and donates specially adapted custom homes for severely wounded 9/11 Veterans and the Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors serves anyone grieving the loss of a military member or veteran, regardless of circumstances. Hunziker says they are proud to help veterans…
“By doing this fundraiser across the nation with all the Pirate’s Cove family and our sister courses, we’re able to help those veterans, including last year, we’ve raised eight hundred and eighty thousand dollars for those organizations.”
Funds will be raised by collecting customer donations at the counter, local business partners can sponsor a hole and a percentage of the total sales over the two weekends at Pirate’s Cove Adventure Golf in Arnold’s park will be donated to the cause. Putting for Patriots will be held on May 16th and 17th and also on Memorial Day weekend.
