CLIPPERS TAKE DOWN MAVERICKS TWICE DURING SENIOR DAY DOUBLEHEADER

The Martin County West baseball team dropped the Senior Day doubleheader against Cleveland on Tuesday.
The Clippers blanked the Mavericks 11-0 in the first game.
Cleveland scored two runs in the first inning, four in the second, one in the fourth and sixth, and three more in the seventh.
MCW had six hits and six walks in the game. Michael McCorkell, Preston Cepress, Brock Jagodzinske, Liam Pytleski, Easton Kuehl, and Kaleb Kennedy each recorded one hit.
Noah Meixell took the loss on the mound as he allowed seven runs with five of them earned on three hits with five walks but also had four strikeouts in 3.1 innings. Faber finished off the fourth with a strikeout and walk. Kuehl pitched the final three innings with four runs scored and one earned on one hit plus four strikeouts and three walks.
The Mavericks honored 2026 seniors Michael McCorkell and Talon Ebeling between games.
The Clippers collected the 16-4 run-rule nightcap victory in five innings.
MCW jumped out to the early 2-0 lead with McCorkell scoring on a dropped third strike to Ebeling and Cepress grounding out to bring Faber home.
Cleveland tied the game in the bottom of the first, added 13 in the second, and one more in the fourth.
Faber doubled to score Caiden Loken and Meixell scored on a wild pitch during the fifth but it wasn’t enough to extend the game.
McCorkell took the loss with nine runs allowed and two of them earned on two hits. He had a pair of strikeouts but walked seven batters in 1.2 innings. Loken pitched 1.1 with one strikeout and one walk plus six runs allowed on three hits. Ian Matejka pitched the fourth with one hit and one earned run allowed to go with a pair of strikeouts and walks.
The 2-10 Mavericks have lost five straight games with a visit to Nicollet up next on Thursday.
